Today we have the absolute pleasure of introducing to you the wonderful fabric/notions/patterns web store that is Shabby Fabrics!  The ladies at Shabby Fabrics, namely Jennifer and Julie, have been such a pleasure to work alongside.  We first met at the Spring International Quilt Market last Spring.  They were a joyous group, kind and happy to lend us newbies years of experience and advice.  We were instantly taken with their welcoming disposition, and have felt like friends from the start!!

Shabby Fabrics is an online QUILT shop specializing in beautiful floral and feminine fabric, exceptional quilt kits, and a wide variety of Block of the Month programs and Clubs.  They also carry over 1,000 patterns, and have a nice selection of "Shabby Exclusive" patterns, designed in studio at Shabby Fabrics.   Shabby Fabrics is owned by Jennifer Bosworth.

Look at this beautiful quilt designed by Jennifer herself!

They also have gorgeous collections of fabrics.

They have such an eye for elegant, feminine fabrics.

When we come across such beautiful websites, it's not surprising that there are beautiful people behind them.

We asked Jennifer to share a little bit about herself, and here is what she had to say:

Every since I was little, I loved making things. If the craft involved scissors, glue,  or glitter I was a happy girl!  In my early twenties, a  friend introduced me to quilting. I so wanted to buy all the beautiful fabrics I saw but simply couldn't afford them.  I was pursuing a career in aviation and my flying lessons were exceedingly expensive. The attraction to quilting would simply have to wait! The years went by as I worked at the commuter airlines logging experience and barely getting by financially. Finally, I was hired at a major airline, and I could now afford quilting! Before long,  I was completely hooked!

The events of September 11, 2001 changed everything.  Soon thereafter,  the airlines began furloughing pilots and I found myself out of work! Piloting jobs were non-existent. After much prayer and contemplation, God gave me the confidence and vision to reinvent myself.  I started a business selling fabrics online and eventually started designing quilt patterns. Today, Shabby Fabrics is a successful online entity in the quilting world.  It's a privilege to work with such wonderful people and be around all these beautiful and inspiring fabrics every day.

Warmest Wishes,

Jennifer

Isn't it great to know about the people behind all of these awesome sites? We think it's so great that even with the convenience of online ordering, the personal connections aren't lost!

We asked Shabby Fabrics what plans they have for 2013, and here is what they had to say:

We just moved our business to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho and it has been a very big event – so we are looking forward to a quieter year in 2013!  However, we will be making appearances at several quilt shows this year: Road to California in January, Sew Expo in February/March, and the International Quilt Festival in October.  We are also working on several new block of the month programs that we are very excited about.  One of which is the Celebrate the Year Mystery BOM, a design created right here at Shabby Fabrics which is a free pattern download!  The downloads for this BOM can be found here:  http://www.shabbyfabrics.com/Free-Patterns-W4.aspx   Keep visiting our website or sign up for our email newsletter(http://visitor.r20.constantcontact.com/d.jsp?llr=wgczznbab&p=oi&m=1101048613078) for all of the latest news on products and sales!
