For as long as I can remember, I have loved to design. At first, it was for my Barbies and then as I got older if was for me. Sewing and design really grew into a passion for me when I became an aunt and then a mother. I still remember those first feelings of accomplishment, joy and the amazement of seeing my little girl in the clothes that I had lovingly made for her. Happily, that feeling has never disappeared. Violette Field Threads has become my ultimate creative outlet, where I still get to experience the joys of sewing for my daughter and now I also get to experience seeing the joy through other moms, grandmas and aunts eyes as they learn to sew and create for their loved ones. In addition to sewing and design, I also love to travel and spend time with my husband and three children I live in a quaint town in Tennessee, just minutes from my best friend and co-owner of VFT, Jessica.

Much more than a utilitarian skill, to me sewing is a visual expression of creativity and a tangible outworking of love. I learned to sew when my fiancé purchased me my first machine as a surprise. An unconventional gift, and who could have known what that surprise would lead to!

That was over 15 years ago! In 2010, Ericka and I started making our own patterns when we couldn’t find patterns for the designs we sketched out of paper.

We hope to include you in our Violette Field Threads family and teach you to sew and create all sorts of beautiful pieces to fill your little one’s closet.

As a young girl, I started learning to sew while helping my mom make our halloween costumes each year. Fast forward to while I was pregnant with our first born daughter, my husband bought me my own sewing machine so I could reupholster her rocking chair. I quickly re-gained interest in sewing, started following diy bloggers, creating my own patterns and exploring new techniques. As they say, the rest is history! I am thrilled to have joined the stellar team of Violette Field Threads in 2017, where I can now share my skills and creativity with their incredible customers!  When I'm not sewing, I am shopping, teaching group exercise classes, co-coordinating a MOPS group and going on adventures with my two beautiful daughters and handsome Marine!

My favorite quote, by Pablo Picasso: "The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away." I love being able to share my creative gifts with sewists all over the world, and hope to inspire them to pass on what they've learned to the next generation.

About 13 years ago I decided to dig out the sewing machine my mom gave me years earlier. Little did I realize that my career path was about to change.  At the time I was working with children as a Physical Therapist Assistant. I always knew I wanted to work with children. My first endeavor in the sewing world was with my Etsy children's clothing shop "My Sweet Sunshine". This soon lead me into pattern testing for VFT. It was such an honor for me to be test with them.  I'll never forget when I was asked to join the VFT team. It was literally a dream

come true!  With a bunch of excitement and bit of fear it was a big YES. I live in sunny Southern California with my 2 children and husband. I love getting out and traveling and spending time with family and friends. When I'm not working, you can usually find me on my kids soccer field most evenings and weekends.

I had only been sewing children's clothing for 1 year when I was introduced to Violette Field Threads Pattern Company by a friend, and fell in love. Designing has always been a dream of mine, and I'm so proud to be a part of this incredible team. The pleasure I have when creating a design and sewing it up for my daughters, and seeing others do so is indescribable. I also enjoy the photography side of designing, capturing the details of each design is so much fun! I couldn't ask for a more fulfilling occupation. I live in a small country town in Mississippi, along with my three gorgeous daughters. I enjoy the outdoors, photography, and designing of course.

Way back when I was a little girl sitting by my grandmothers side learning to hand sew with a needle and thread I knew I had such a strong passion for creating beautiful things. My first proud creation was 4 hand sewn a line dresses that literally had a front and back piece hand drafted out at the age of 11. Little did I know they would rip apart with one jump on a trampoline but I refused to use a pattern piece! I learned quickly how important pattern pieces were hahahaha!! At the age of 13 I was put in my very first sewing lessons where I created a pair of shorts and a windsox! The passion of using a machine a seeing the results I created it was love at first sight! I have been sewing for about 19 years! I have two beautiful daughters that inspire me to create!!! I love resurrecting vintage styles as well as what's on trend! Putting my ideas on paper then into a design has always been a passion of mine! A passion that grows in strength with every detail and every design! The most enjoyable moment of all is seeing all of the beautiful children so happy in their mama made creations! Knowing I can contribute to their happiness by creating their wonderful mama a beautiful design to sew and create with their personal flare for their baby makes my heart swell 10 fold! I started out working for vft with photography then soon moved on to test their patterns! I have been with vft for about 3 years now! I fell in love with VFT at first pattern! I knew no other could steal my heart as they did! Now to be so honored in becoming a designer for the company has completed my dreams! I feel I still need to be pinched!!! I look forward to putting my passion into many more designs!!!
