The Lilly shorts have a slim to moderate fit and a low rise waistband. The waistband is elastic, but we teach you how to do a faux "flat front" waistband. The elastic allows for comfort and ease of fit.

Love the pattern but sizing is way off
These shirts are SMALL . My daughter wears age 3-4 clothes always but I had to make these in age 8 for them to fit her . Very cute once made up though

Easy to follow instructions designed for success
I am a quilter almost 20 years. I have sewing knowledge. I have never made clothing. These shorts came out and I surprised myself. They look beautiful, directions were easy to follow. My only issue is my daughter doesn't like the trim i used and won't wear them. Her friend loved them and begged her mom for some. I made her the next size up for next summer and then sent my daughter's over for this summer since my beast won't wear them. I have gotten some more patterns and am going to try some pajamas next. My son keeps begging me for mommy-made items....if VF starts with some boy patterns I'll be set forever. Love love love.

I absolutely love the Lilly shorts! The pattern is easy to follow for a sewist with just a bit of experience and is a great "next-step" pattern for a beginner who has only made simple items such as headbands or plain skirts.
