Made a Christmas dress for my granddaughter. Removed the waistline and hacked the pattern to angle straight out from the arm scye like the nightgown hack I saw on your web site. Fit her perfectly. Great instructions.
I had never made a little girl’s dress before and this was a lot of fun to make !
I have printed out the pattern but not had a chance to use it yet. It's a cute little dress for any time of the year and going through the directions it looks like it's going to be easy to put together. I have the fabric already chosen and can't wait to sew it.
This is our favourite pattern. My daughters both love this dress. I’ve made them two each and part way through a third one. They are pretty quick to sew and are easy for the girls to put on because they don’t have any closures. One of my girls is sensory sensitive and this is so comfortable for her.
An Easy sew. No Lining needed.

Matilda dress pattern
Super sweet dress. Easy to sew and girls loved the big twirl factor! They want more!
Easy basic dress
Loved using the pattern to make nativity costumes. I turned them into maxi dresses and they worked like a dream. If you are looking for a quick easy sew, this is a great one.
A perfect pattern
This Matilda has to be one of my favorite. I have already made 3 dresses and 2 tops. Here are a few.
Matilda dress
I found the pattern easy to work with and the end result very pretty. However, I think the skirt is unnecessarily wide. Lovely pattern!
Fantastic, easy to follow dress pattern
This is one of the best dress patterns I've ever used. I am a self-taught intermediate sewer, and some patterns can really throw me for a loop. This pattern was perfect. It had easy to follow directions and came together perfectly!
Very Beginner Did It!
The beauty of their patterns are intimidating but then you start reading the instructions and it becomes very simple and goof proof! It was a hit with many people
Matilda dress
Beginner friendly. Such a sweet dress. My daughter was so happy with the dress. Couldn't believe I can make such a dress. Proud of myself. Great pattern.
Quick and easy!
I am a novice sewer, but the pattern was easy to follow. I created the toddler dress in an afternoon (with little people around) and the baby dress quicker after they were asleep! I received so many compliments on them!
Matilda
Very easy sew and I consider myself a beginner. I love making dresses from VFT because they're beautiful designs and help me become a better seamstress. Love Matilda and plan to make many more for both my girls! Thanks!
Love Matilda
Matilda is a beautiful dress, has plenty of twirl which most young girls love, ease with putting it in and taking off - no buttons or zippers. Added the inseam pockets and they were a hit. Have made 3 Matilda’s with the cap sleeves and one with the 3/4 length sleeves and have plans to make a few more.
Matilda dress
Very clear instructions - as a beginner I was able to follow the instructions and produce a beautiful dress for my daughter.
Love this dress.
Such a fast easy sew. I've made about 6 of them and now from cut to finish can get a dress out in about an hour.
Beginner friendly
I have very limited sewing experience. The pattern and guide were easy to follow especially for a novice, semi-straight line sewing level novice. I did make use of their you tube channel tips which helped. Do not try to skip ironing:)
Matilda
I found the patterns easy to print off and stick together. The dress itself is very easy to make, I have made two dresses and a top. The first dress I made was with puff sleeves, the second with flutter sleeves, I did add two inches to the body length as my granddaughter likes the elastic to be on her waist. She likes the full skirt and spends her time twirling around. This was the first time I have used my overlocker to attach elastic, so was pleased I had learnt a new skill. I have purchased a couple more dress patterns but haven’t got round to making them yet.
