The Allie Top & Shorts Set is ready for summer fun! The Allie Shorts are simply adorable with an attached bow and ruffles that extend down the shorts leg. The shorts have an option to be fully lined and have an elastic back waistband for room to grow. The tutorial includes information on how to fold the perfect bow for a beautiful end result. We even include links to a video tutorial to walk you through this step!
The Allie Top is a fabulous addition to this pattern and can be sewn up in less than an hour. The sleeveless top features a large circle keyhole in the back, front pin-tucks, and a short mandarin collar that ties in a sweet bow in the back! Her closet will be full of these breezy tops.
We also include instructions on how to create a flat front short without the bow. These shorts are the perfect staple to a summer wardrobe.

Easy and Adorabe
I loved this top. I have a hard time finding tank tops that fit the dress code at their school, and this one has thick enough straps that it's good to wear to school. The style is so adorable, even European chic! The construction is easy and it's great to have the key hole and tie in the back - no buttons and zips for their hair to get stuck in. They were quick and easy to construct, didn't require a ton of fabric, and turned out so great! I haven't tried the shorts yet - bought the pattern for the top alone.

Skip the Bow and a Six-year-old can make the shorts!
I bought this set solely for the shorts, thinking they were a simple pattern my daughter could use to contribute to her own back-to-school outfit. I was not disappointed. The instructions for sewing the non-bow version of the shorts were kind of disjointed, but the end product turned out great. My daughter loved that there were so many straight lines and such easy construction, and I loved that even with a six-year old at the helm, we could still finish them in a night.

Sweet Summer Staple
The Allie top was such a fun sew. My first time doing pintucks, and bias tape. So much easier than I ever imagined. I’ll definitely be making more of these.

I made the Allie top in size 2T, but when I took it to my granddaughter I couldn’t get it over her head. I had to bring it home (106 Miles) and make the cutout larger. It turned out cute, but I wasn’t happy about the hassle.

I do love your patterns, the instructions are easy to follow with pictures and notations. I have just about finished sewing the Allie Tops and will start on the shorts later today - just in time before my granddaughters arrive for Christmas.

I love the Allie shorts and top. Both were easy to put together and I liked the multiple options for the shorts (lined/unlined, bow front/no bow). Once again another perfectly easy to follow pattern from VFT.

Wow! My daughter and I both love the look of these tips and shorts. We made her several tops out of cotton to complete outfits she already had and shorts out of cotton canvas prints that are just adorable. The high waist is cute, cute. They wash well. Adorable together or as separates. Ran true to size.
