My First Violette Field Threads Pattern
I bought the Adelaide Top and Dress pattern to make dresses for Halloween costumes this year. My 6 year old can't ever be simple and after watching a high school theater production of Beauty and the Beast she just HAD to be Lumiere. She talked her 4 year old sister into being Cogsworth. So I used the Adelaide pattern in two different fabrics to make their dresses. I got so many compliments and the pattern was really easy to understand. I loved the tutorial that came with it. Thanks so much for the great pattern, I have already purchased another pattern!

I think this pattern is more suited to experienced sew-ers rather than beginners.

Sehr verständliche Erklärung, sehr gute Passform, in verkleinerter Form habe ich sogar die Lieblingspuppe im Partnerlook eingekleidet.

Love Adelaide!
I think Adelaide may be my favorite VFT pattern. It's such a simple sew, yet the results are just stunning. The style is unique and classic. Pattern is beautifully written, of course. I love that Adelaide is both a dress and a top.
Adelaide
your patterns and instructions are so easy to follow. The fit is excellent on the girls too.
Adelaide dress
I made Adelaide for my daughter and it looks amazing..great pattern
Turned out cute in the end
I am an experienced sewist but struggled with this pattern - which I used in three sizes for girls 2, 7 and 10. Overall, the sizes ran smaller than commercial patterns and I didn't like the facing construction. Measure carefully on the length because there's no leeway once you cut too short! Ties should be a couple of inches longer. I may not use this company again, but I do have to say that in the end the dresses were adorable on Thanksgiving day.
Adelaide Dress
I enjoyed using your Adelaide pattern and made 2 dresses with it. To improve the experience I would have liked a few more measurements included - like length of dress and shoulder width. The instructions were good; I was able to attach the loop for the front of collar while I sewed on the collar and facing. This made it so the ends of the loop wasn't visible - even from the inside of the dress. I also altered the sleeves as seen on the blog That's Sew Kari. Since the dresses were to be a more dressy dress, I felt her idea dressed up the outfit a bit more. It is an adorable little girl's dress! I will consider using Violette Field Threads patterns again.
