Fern is the trendy skirt pattern you need this year! One of the coolest things about Fern is it can be sewn with woven fabric by inserting a zipper in the back, or using knit fabric with no closure!! Talk about a multi-use pattern! It features a flat waistband and a circle skirt, so you know it's got phenomenal twirl factor!

It took me awhile to figure out that the printer did not correctly print out the pattern. There were angled lines in the skirt for the woven option...maybe it was too much for the printer to handle? So I followed the knit lines which were all curved and made sense and the skirt turned out so cute.
I went by the waist measurements and I chose a size 8 when I should’ve chosen a size 6. My skirt was wool and required a zipper. Idk if the size 8 would’ve worked with a knit fabric. It was a super easy fix and I’m happy with the results. The length was very nice. The fabric I used does not require hemming so it’s right over my knees but I’m not sure if it’s that length because I cut the length of a size 8. I’m 5,4 btw. Since I’m happy with the length I may cut a size 6 next time and leave the length a size 8 because if I have to hem the bottom I won’t have to worry about it feeling too short to chase a 5 year old around before, during and after church.
very easy pattern and the skirt turned out very cute! I'll be using this again with different fabric for sure!
It was my first time using a skirt pattern. I love how easy it was to follow for both woven and knit versions (size 16). I wore the second skirt I made from this pattern in my recent engagement photos. I will be using this pattern more often in the future for sure!
Perfect for a Velma skirt
