I made this dress for my 3 month old niece and it turned out beautifully! The square neckline is such a special detail. I looked for inspiration in the Facebook group and ended up using a simple gathered skirt without the top layer and bell sleeves and couldn't be happier. The instructions were perfect making for a flawless construction. Whoo hoo!
The pattern is well made. The only thing is that the 0-3 dress is a little short when following the pattern so I had to adjust it to make it longer
This turned out beautifully! There was one small part of the bodice that confused me a little, but other than that, the pattern was very clear!
I'm a beginner, but this is the second pattern I have purchased. The first was a breeze, but this one was not as intuitive. The instructions for attaching the topskirt and underskirt seemed backward. The flat lay sleeve insert instructions being placed at the end were misleading. I was going to use those, but had accidentally prepped the bodice for in the round (which I actually already knew how to do so it was fine). Some parts near the end could have used photo tutorials as well. Still love it!! Making 3 more but sizing up cause it fits very snug!!! I would not recommend using twill, which I tried. Lays nice but frayed when gathering and gathered while coming off the machine.
I have made the dress 3 times and the directions for the bodice /lining and sleeve were a bit confusing. I have dress 3 on the sewing table that needs to be ripped and re-done...

Beautiful!
This turned out beautifully! There was one small part of the bodice that confused me a little, but other than that, the pattern was very clear!
Beautiful and easy
Omgoodness how I love this pattern! The pictures make it so easy to follow. It's my third dress I've ever made, 1st nora dress, had no prior sewing experience and the dress came out beautiful, if you don't mind me saying. :)
Wonderful simple to understand patterns
I have purchased 3 patterns so far and love them all! They’ve been easy to understand & turn out beautiful!
Sizing is a bit off
I made this dress for my daughter, for her 1th birthday. The first dress i made was way to small, i used 12-18 months, which should fit her, but it did'nt. So i made a second dress, 18-24 months with an few extra centimeters in width (my girl is a normal size baby). But the end result was perfect and i still love the pattern :)
LOVE NORA!
This was my first VFT project and I fell in love. I’ve since bought many more patterns. Haven’t made them all yet, but I need to buy them all!
Excellent
The pattern is well made. The only thing is that the 0-3 dress is a little short when following the pattern so I had to adjust it to make it longer
Unclear Directions
This is a very complicated dress, and I don't think it's for beginners. I'm not a beginner, and I still wish the steps were separated more and the dress in the material was made with contrasting fabric and thread so that we could see where it is actually going. I really wanted to love this pattern because the finished product is so cute, but there could definitely be significant improvements.
A Little tricky...
I have made the dress 3 times and the directions for the bodice /lining and sleeve were a bit confusing. I have dress #3 on the sewing table that needs to be ripped and re-done...
I like this dress pattern very much. This is the second time I have made it. The result was fantastic.
Nora Dress
Absolutely beauty and fun to make. I would certainly not try it as beginner but if you have a general sense of what you’re doing it’s quite simple. Great and easy to follow directions nothing to guess about
Nora pattern
I loved sewing this dress, I've made 3 of them so far. Thank you for this beautiful pattern.
Nora
This pattern could have had much clearer instructions. If I was not an experienced sewer, I would have been frustrated. Sizing was a little snug also.
Baby Nora
Love the pattern and instructions! Making the 0-3 months size was easy with the detailed instructions.
Adorable, but sizing is way small
I love this and all of the Violette Fields patterns, but it is important to either measure the child or use a baby/child growth chart and measure the pattern in comparison. The VF pattern sizing tends to be substantially smaller than the medically determined averages for babies at various ages.
Love it all
So easy to purchase. Easy to follow instructions and beautiful dress in the end.
Nora Baby Dress
It is a very cute dress. My daughter has had many compliments on it. The pattern was easy to follow and I will make it again.
Back was too small
The back on this pattern was too narrow for my very petite granddaughter. I ended up having to buy the next size pattern and remaking the dress.
Such a cute dress!
The Nora was the first patten I sewed up and I just love it! It's beautiful and the instructions are easy to understand. The only problem I had was not realizing that the bodice prints on two pages which are not consecutive (there's a sleeve patten between them). This caused me trouble when I discovered it after constructing the bodice with sleeves. I had to then figure out a way to fix it without losing all my hard work. It would be great if the bodice pieces were at least on consecutive pages. Overall though, I love this pattern and am planning on making it again! It has cute details and I love the multiple options for the skirt and sleeves. ❤
Sizing charts are off.
Cute dress for sure but the size charts are off with VFT. Even when using measurements correctly. Dresses are cute but require quite a bit of fabric. Made one baby Nora and will not make anymore.
