Pearl will be a favorite for all seasons. Pearl is a dress or a pinafore, both versions have the option to be fully reversible!! A sweet flutter sleeve is included, but Pearl is just as adorable sleeveless or layered over a long sleeve in cold weather.
The pinafore version can close with ties or buttons (only on the bodice). The dress version closes with buttons all the way down the back. Pearl features a full skirt that every girl loves!
The pinafore version is sooo cute layered over the Georgia Dress Pattern (sold seperately).

This is my second Violette Fields pattern, and both are my daughters favourite dresses. The patterns are easy to follow with clear directions and images.

Beautiful & simple
Beautiful finished dress! You can also use half the skirt fabric to make a money/fabric saving item and it still looks gorgeous. Pattern is so easy for beginners. I’d definitely recommend this, especially if it’s your first :)
Fit was perfect.
I was very happy with my patterns. And they fit my granddaughter perfectly. I was very impressed. I have tried sewing her things in the past and they never seem to fit correctly. Great instructions. Will definitely buy more.

I’ve been looking for the perfect little pinafore pattern for layering over dresses for ages and finally found it with VFT pearl pattern. I’m self taught and beginner to sewing dresses and I found the pattern very user friendly and was thirilled with the results!

These patterns are fabulous with step by step color instructions. I've made two of the pinafore dresses, one of them reversible. They came out lovely. My only sadness is that it took me this long to learn about this company. My daughter is wearing size 10 now which seems to be the largest size these patterns go up to so we're at the end of the line. But I will continue recommending this company to others. A friend in Colorado was so taken by a social media picture of my dress that she just ordered this pattern for her daughter. I would buy any of these dress patterns, the quality of the instructions and the finished products was far higher than I anticipated and I'm super happy about it.
Pearl Pinafore
I love VFT designs, however, am sometimes frustrated by the discrepancy in sizes. I find the two sizing charts confusing. I would prefer one chart with the size which most closely matches the actual measurements of the wearer, assuming that VFT will allow for the proper ease. I did cut the 3T from the finished measurement chart which indicated a 23 inch bust. When I measured the pattern pieces they matched the actual wearer measurements of 20 inches. I am disappointed that the dress may barely fit and will not be able to be worn for very long. Note to self� measure all pattern pieces before cutting!

I didn’t know what to think of a pinafore, but seeing Pearl over the Georgia dress sold me. The clean lines, beautiful top stitching and ribbon closure- could it get any cuter? I’m about to cut out a second one. Easy to follow instructions and a gorgeous result.

Amazed that I could make something so beautiful. I wish this pattern also came in tween size. Because it is reversible it makes a great outfit to wear over dresses or skirts when going out on cold days. I plan to make another one and make it a “snow pinafore” with ripstop fabric for the main and fleece for the reverse. Could also use parka lining. It gets really cold here. Glad to have an attractive pattern like this. Please consider doing this in tween size!
