I recently made a swimsuit for my granddaughter with this pattern. At first I wasn'tsure about it becauseof the ruffle, . It was an easy sew.
My granddaughter absolutely loves it. I will be making her another soon.
I loved the instructionals, and this suit turned out so wonderful! My daughter loves it!
I loved the ease of making this pattern. The directions were clear and the end result was perfect. My little one loved her new suit. Thank you!
I made the Tankini twice. This is hard to criticize because its so adorable. I do recommend people make it with the following cautions. I highly recommend doing a “mock up” with less expensive lycra. I made a mock up with cheap lycra just to practice the binding and check the fitting. I am also new to the coverstitch so this was my first real project with my new Juki 1700 so I’m getting better with every step. One mild criticism I have of the pattern is the ruffle is at worst, awkward but the girls LOVE it. Sometimes I found the instructions confusing because the “wrong” side of the fabric was difficult to see in pictures and sometimes I found the instructions confusing hence the mock up suggestion. The only other suggestion I would highly recommend that I didn’t see in the pattern instructions was to trim the seam allowance down in the binding because it makes it much easier to turn it to the right side if the allowance is trimmed. I don’t know why thats not in the instructions but I didn’t see it. I recommend this pattern if you love the design.
Made a great gift for my niece
