These are all really nice designs and the patterns are fairly easy to follow. That said, the sizing is substantially smaller than infant and toddler sizing used by other pattern companies ("big four" and other independent companies). I made some dresses for a baby who isn't here yet, so I couldn't measure her, plus I was projecting out a year, making four outfits for each of the seasons in the baby's first year. Who knows how big she'll be at 6 months or one year. I'm presuming, though, that she'll fall into the medically described average range in those months, and the sizing on the Violette Fields patterns do not correspond with those averages. I didn't figure that out until I had made four dresses in the 3-6 month, 6-9 month, 9-12 month and 12-18 month sizes, all but the 9-12 month size using Violette Fields patterns. I knew something was amiss when I saw that the 9-12 month size I had made using a different pattern company was a bit larger than the 12-18 month size in the Violette Fields pattern.
So, do measure the child, if you have access to her or him, or check the actual pattern measurements against one of those baby growth charts.
