Seraphina is a gorgeous floor length dress that can be sewn as a special occasion style with beautiful tulle or an everyday style with or without a bottom ruffle. The Seraphina pattern features flounce sleeves or a long, slim sleeve. The bodice has a soft v shaped neckline and zipper back closure.
Our tutorial features tips for cutting, gathering and sewing with large yardages of tulle. Our technique for attaching and sewing the tulle skirt allows for extremely full skirts without pushing your sewing machine to the limits.

Lovely pattern
The pattern was great fit, my grandaughter wears an 8 and this was perfect. She wanted plaid, I used taffeta, ballet length. Have not yet taken a pic with her, but will soon.
Great, even for a beginner
I was a little nervous as I am new to sewing, bit i really needn't have been. The instructions were clear, with great photos and step-by-step guidance. Even little notes to remind and clarify certain things, i.e. that 2 layers were being sewn, not just the one, and saying the main fabric was now sandwiched between the lining and the bodice. These extras really helped my confidence. My dress turned out lovely! Will definitely use again

The dress design is very cute and is going to make a lovely flower girl dress for my great-niece, made from a sheer voile with a fine cotton broadcloth underneath. My only complaint is about the exposed zipper. Luckily I read the instructions through and noticed that detail, so I added some to the back seam allowance so I can put in a proper centered zipper covered by the seam allowance. I also plan to attach the bodice lining to the skirt separately from the main fabric by hand to cover the waist seam, and will most likely do french seams on the voile overlay skirt I am using.

Simply sublime. It's a bit hard for me to translate into French so there are probably some things that I did wrong. But the rendering is superb!

I love the detailed instructions on YouTube for printing the patterns, cutting them out, etc. The sizing of the pattern was accurate, it lays well, and was really beautiful. My only problem with the pattern was that I bought a solid lining fabric with a sheer fabric to go over it like many of the pictures show. The pattern calls for the neck line and other bodice seams to be sewn together and then cut off with pinking sheers. So you could see the zigzag cut off seems through the sheer fabric on the front of the dress. Should have called for a French seem or a facing in order to use the sheer fabrics. I ended up having to switch it around so my solid fabric was the main fabric and the sheer was the lining.

I love these patterns for children but I don’t love all the cutting and pasting. Where are the copy shop size formats???? I bought a pattern thinking I would use it for Easter but I don’t think I will use it because I don’t want to spend half my time cutting and pasting.
