Meet Zoey
Hello VFT Family!
Alexis here and I would love to introduce you to ZOEY! Zoey is the lasted addition to the VFT pattern lineup. Here is a little rundown to our new pattern...
-Sizes Child 2-9/10 AND The Tween 10-16
-Long sleeve (finished just above the wrist) and elbow (finished just below the elbow)
-Knee length dress
-Maxi Length dress that features a ruffle
-Snap front closure
-Elastic waist
-Elastic finish on the sleeves
-Bias tape neckline
-Bias tape front
When I started designing Zoey, my daughter and I both wanted an bohemian maxi dress that she could wear for Thanksgiving. Right around the same time Indie Folk by Pat Bravo and Art Gallery Fabrics was introducing as her new collection. I immediately knew Zoey and Indie Folk belonged together. Pat's collection provided that last finishing touch to bring my vision to life!
Let's bring on the photos!!!
Maxi Dress with Ruffle:
Brooklyn & Talulah
We are so excited to share with you two new patterns coming to the VFT collection!
Meet Talulah- the most essential knit pattern you'll have in your library!! Talulah can be made as either a top or a dress. You'll find this as your go-to knit pattern as the sleeve options included make it perfect year round. Create Talulah sleeveless, with short sleeves or with long sleeves. Sprinkled throughout are little design features like ruffles along the bottom of the sleeve for added detail, embellishment of either a rectangle or circle front bib, and an option of the bottom skirt hem trimmed out in ruffles. Use all of these details, or keep your project simple and sweet as this will surely become your go to basic knit tee and dress pattern.
The Amelia Maxi {Modification}
Hello Everyone!!!
Maya here, bringing you the Amelia Maxi Modification!! Amelia was released a few weeks ago along with the rest of the Back to School Collection. Featuring a Hi-Lo hem, several sleeve and hem options, Amelia is just perfect for all ages!
Today I am going to show you how to add yet another option, Floor Length Maxi. My girls and I absolutely LOVE the comfy factor of knit maxi dresses! This modification is so simple, but certainly has a wow factor when sewn up..... This modification is for Girls, Tweens, and Misses, so there are only charts for those sizes. I did not create this mod for babies, as they may have trouble teetering about in a maxi length. :) However, you can follow the measuring instructions and easily modify baby as well.
Alexandra Sew-a-Long {Day 2}
Day 2 is here! If I had my way, we would skip this day all together, because little elves would have shown up last night and put all of our patterns together for us and they would have even cut out our fabrics! It would be lovely and today we would start getting to the good stuff, like sewing. But alas, no elves visited me last night so I guess I will have to do this work myself!
Alexandra Sew-a-Long {Day 1}
Ladies, to say I am excited for this Sew-a-Long is not even the half of it! With so many family and friends right in the thick of these horrible storms, I am welcoming the chance to take my mind off of all this mess and stress!! Alexandra to the rescue! For those who are new to our SAL's, WELCOME!! I am so happy to have you here! Our VFT Sew-a-Long group has grown like {crazy} over the past 8 months, and I am beyond overjoyed at the response we have received. So glad you all are loving these monthly get togethers as much as I do!
Ok, so let's get back to business. Today is the best day {in my humble opinion}. Today we get creative and brainstorm!!! But first, make sure you have purchased the pattern! Use code AlexandraSAL to purchase your copy at a discount!
Now for the fun part. Let's start planning! If your stash is anything like mine, you probably have a few gems hidden away waiting for the perfect pattern. Last fall, I pre-ordered some AMAZING fabric since I knew my daughter would be starting Kindergarten, and I've been holding on to it, just waiting for the day to come. Well, today is the day!!
I am in LOVE with this fabric line from Heather Givans! Literary may seriously be my most favorite fabric line!! I adore everything about it!! And it is perfect for my book worm Kindergartner!
I am thinking the collar will be in this blue and white large dot, because I am a sucker for dots! And I found this lovely gold scallop trim I bought a few years back at Target, and I think it will look amazing under the pintucks!
Think about all the options this pattern has and figure out what version you are going to make! I decided on a dress with pintucked bodice. Go big or go home, am I right?!?!?! I am thinking this will make the perfect school photo dress!
Once you have decided on your fabrics, trims, etc, grab your camera and snap a pic! Upload it into our Day 1 album! For those who are participating for the first time, everyday I will post a daily album. Take 1 photo of your progress for that day and post it in the album. Make sure you are following along with the daily blog posts. At the end of the SAL, I will choose 1 random winner to receive an amazing VFT prize package!!! Tomorrow we will be assembling and cutting fabrics! See you all back here tomorrow!
